Keir Harvey is joining a strong team of skiers who will be based at Club Med Sahoro in Japan this winter training and working as a ski instructor in Japan. From the exotic shores of Liverpool to the bright lights of Tokyo!

Konnichiwa guys! My names Keir Harvey; I’m 21 and I’m your official EA blogger for the forthcoming 2014/15 season in Sahoro, Japan. I’m originally from Liverpool and I’ve recently graduated from the University of Brighton having studied Physical Geography & Geology, so I guess you can say I love rocks and rivers.

So here we are months of waiting and it’s finally here, Japan 2014/15. Like most of the new recruits it’s been a bit of an emotional roller-coaster, a mixed bag of nerves, apprehension but above all excitement. I seriously can’t wait to meet all the cool new EA people and hit the slopes. Even Japan itself is a culture that I’m really looking forward to divulging myself into.
Skiing has always been one of my favourite pastimes and I’ve been lucky enough that my mother was once a ski instructor and has taught me the ways and developed my ski skills.

I’m buzzing to be going out there and I’m really relishing this once in a lifetime opportunity. I’ve even been brushing up on my Japanese, watashi wa Keir desu, pretty much an expert right? But on a serious note having the opportunity to teach a sport I love and hopefully get other people into the sport would be fantastic. I actually can’t wait to experience the famous powder snow that Japan has to offer and take part in the course. So for now sayonara!
