Why did Jason Loong choose to complete a EA Ski and Snowboard Instructor Training Course?
Jason Loong is working as a snowboard instructor at Lake Louise. Jason took 3 months off work to pursue his dream of becoming a snowboard instructor in Canada! Read the Q&A of Jason's ski season in the Canadian Rockies below:
Hey guys! My name is Jason and I’m from Melbourne, Australia. I have been snowboarding for about 3 years have absolutely fell in love with snowboarding and trying to improve my riding. abilities. The three main reasons why I chose the EA Ski and Snowboard training course was to 1) Improve my riding as much as possible by maximising time on the snow and getting coached by experienced instructors 2) Come away with the CASI Level 1 and 2 certifications that are internationally recognised so I can travel and teach snowboarding throughout the world 3) Overall program setup was all inclusive and I barely had to worry about anything! Its a no stress process.

What is day to day life like as a snowboard instructor at Lake Louise Ski Resort in Canada?
The usual day for us starts at about 8:45am with taking the bus to Lake Louise. Training each day starts at 10:30am all the way to 4pm. The instructors that we had each day varied which allowed us to get advice on all different perspectives on our riding and also see everyone’s different teaching styles. The instructors often gave unique feedback for all of us. After a day on the slopes depending on our energy levels some of us stayed in but on other nights we would often hit up the local pub for a brew or have a nice wholesome night in and watch a film with others.
When it came close to our level 1 and 2 exam, the instructors gave us plenty of feedback and my snowboarding really improved drastically.

Additional training and program inclusions on an EA Ski & Snowboard Instructor Training Course
In addition to the training we receive, the EA Ski and Snowboard Training course offered a complimentary level 1 first aid course as well as Introduction to Avalanche course which were both super helpful. The avalanche and backcountry day was a super fun day, especially getting exposed to some off piste backcountry areas, this was a first for me!

Do you recommend doing a EA Ski and Snowboard Training Program?
I highly recommend the EA Snowboard Instructor Training program for whoever is looking to develop their existing snowboard riding. The program was a great way of meeting new likeminded people, getting exposed to new things and overall having an awesome time. I actually took 3 months off full time work to go on this snowboard course and I have absolutely no regrets!
