What it's like working at

Lake Louise

You will quickly become one of the locals and enjoy ‘mates rates’, ‘mean hookups’ and a lot of fun. People are often keen to know how much it costs to buy food so here’s our shopping list rundown:

  • A hearty meal from the West Lake Louise Lodge $10
  • A cold apres-ski beer on the mountain $6
  • A big burger and fries from Eddies in Banff $13.50
  • A pack of 5 Bagels from the Safeway Supermarket $5

On your day's off, you'll find yourself heading to other resorts such as Mt Norquay, Banff and Sunshine Village. You can expect work at Lake Louise to be busy during the holiday periods, while the quieter parts of the season are taken up with a mix of part time work and training towards your level 2.

Note: For those on our Internship Programs, EA covers the cost of your accommodation for the duration of the level one program. Once employed you will be able to stay on for the remainder of the season with payments deducted from your pay. On arrival, you will be required to pay a bond of approximately CA $200. You will also need to bring or purchase on arrival bedding, towels plus some basic cooking and eating utensils.

*The above is an indicative based on last season and is subject to change based on availability and updates to pricing

Program Manager

EA want you to have the best season possible this winter. We have two program managers who oversee the running of our instructor courses who are easily contactable and there to offer advice and support at all times. Not only are they familiar with Lake Louise itself, but they also work for the ski school and will be a familiar face to make your gap year and first winter season that much easier.

Certification Overview

Our Internships and instructor courses allow you to obtain a globally recognised qualification with either the CSIA (Ski) or CASI (Snowboard).

Both the CISA and CASI have internationally recognised ski associations and are the governing bodies for ski/snowboard instructor qualifications in Canada. CASI and CSIA teaching qualifications are highly regarded in the industry and a qualification with the Canadian system will build your technical understanding and allow you to effectively instruct skiing or snowboarding.

Remember that if you are taking a plus internship, the level 2 course fees are not included as not everyone chooses to sit these.
