How to become a Snowboard Instructor in Japan

Japan is known for things like sushi, ramen, geisha's, calligraphy, cultural experiences and beautiful art. However, it is also becoming increasingly well-known for its powder snow as well. The word is officially out and as it spreads, more and more people are adding snowboarding in Japan to their bucket lists and flocking there to experience it for themselves! EA Ski & Snowboard's instructor training in Japan began with a partnership with the Canyons Ski School. Since then, we have grown to include over 8 resorts including Club Med Sahoro, Club Med Tomamu, Nozawa Onsen ski resort, Canyons, Niseko, Rusutsu, Hakuba & Mt. Naeba.

The instructor internship program available in Japan is designed to suit those that want to start their career off as a snowboard instructor or who are out to have the best winter gap year of their lives. Our Japanese ski resorts offer deep, fluffy Yuki (a Japanese word, meaning "snow"), world-class training with SBINZ certified instructors and some of the best winter locations with nearby events such as the Sapporo Ice Festival and the Nozawa Fire Festival! As Japan is gaining popularity as a winter gap year destination, we are now are selling out positions earlier each season. If you are interested in travelling to Japan you should start planning a year in advance to ensure you secure your working holiday visa (visa support and assistance available) and your snowboard instructor course.

Why choose Japan for a snowboard instructor training course or internship program?

SNOW, SNOW, SNOW of course! Previous interns have chosen Japan as their program location because it provides a great opportunity to be able to go and live in such a culturally enriching country and also experience powder like no other. If you find yourself with a passion for snowboarding, a thirst for travel, exploration, culture and an amazing experience, then Japan is for you! Before you head to Japan, it pays to know though that Japan is made up of a lot of many resorts. Some of these winter escapes came out of the bubble era when Japan was building purpose-built skiing facilities and now there are over 600 resorts in Japan to play on. This is mainly due to the fact that Japan is mountainous and blessed with a cold air travelling all the way from Siberia. Japan can and has placed ski resorts pretty much anywhere and everywhere. Aside from the snowboarding, Japanese people are known to be incredibly friendly, they have fantastic cuisine, and they are great at efficiently building things... why is that a plus, you ask? Well - incredible facilities of course!

How to become a Snowboard Instructor in New Zealand

Welcome to the land of the long white cloud, New Zealand offers some of the best skiing in the Southern Hemisphere. There are 4 world-class resorts available in New Zealand, Coronet Peak and the Remarkables in Queenstown, Mt Hutt in Methven, and Mt Ruapehu in the National Park.

With EA Ski & Snowboard Training you can choose to either join and snowboard instructor internship or a snowboard instructor training course. We offer different levels of instructor training to suit your winter goals, improve your riding with our 5 - 10-week instructor training course and gain your avalanche certification and your level 2 instructor certification.

Why choose New Zealand for a snowboard instructor training course or internship program?

There are not many places in the world where you can ski fresh powder in the mornings and spend the afternoon/ enjoying the beach or surfing some waves on sunset. New Zealand has large mountains, deep lakes and white sandy beaches, all within half a days drive away!

If you are looking for a fun bubbly resort town full of epic adventures then Queenstown is your best pick! It is New Zealand's adventure capital as it has an unlimited amount of terrain to explore. Although Queenstown has over half a million visitors each year, you are guaranteed to be able to find a nice quiet spot on the beach to enjoy your fish and chips after a hard days riding!

Our other South Island resort is a short 40min drive from a small, resort village called Methven. Methven is a very friendly town with a real sense of community. It offers lots of potential for outdoor recreation as it is right on the doorstep of Hakatere Conservation Park one of the largest in NZ. Our newest resort Mt Ruapehu is the only mountain in the North Island and is situated high up in the National Park! We love it because it is located in one of the best places to explore all New Zealand has to offer.
