How Long Does It Take to Become an Internationally Cretified Snowboard Instructor?
Snowboarding pushes progression, promotes creativity, and offers an exciting lifestyle. Some of the best feelings in the world come from screaming down the mountain on fibreglass, carving fresh turns, and sending it off side hits! Add to that a new crew of shred friends, epic scenery, and local culture, and you’ll know exactly what this lifestyle is all about. Feel good, have fun, meet interesting people in amazing places, and evolve in every way possible. If this lifestyle entices you, then becoming a certified snowboard instructor could be your dream job. With internationally recognised snowboard instructor qualifications, you can turn your passion into a career while travelling the world and riding every single day.

The Timeline: From 4 Weeks to a Full Season
So how long does it actually take? With EA Ski and Snowboard Training instructor courses, you can get your Level 1 snowboard instructor qualification in as little as 4 weeks. These shorter programs are intensive - lots of on-snow coaching, technical riding development, and exam prep packed into one epic month of shredding! Check out the program here.
If you want to go deeper, the longer 8–11 week snowboard instructor courses give you more coaching time, feedback, and a shot at gaining your Level 2 snowboard certification. Even better, EA Ski and Snowboard Training's internship programs combine training with guaranteed job placements at resorts, so you can qualify and start teaching in the same season. That’s right - you can start teaching students and cashing your first pay check before spring.
Level 1 vs. Level 2: Unlocking More Terrain
Landing your Level 1 certification gets you teaching beginner snowboarders on groomed runs and giving others the stoke of linking their first turns. But the Level 2 snowboard instructor qualification is where the real doors open - it allows you to teach more advanced terrain, work at a wider range of resorts, and chase instructor jobs all over the globe.
Most snowboarders aiming to work internationally will push for Level 2 within their first season, especially if they join EA Ski and Snowboard Training full-season pathway. From there, you can keep progressing toward higher levels (like Level 3 or ISIA recognition) if you want to ride bigger mountains, take on advanced coaching, or make instructing your long-term career.
