Solo ski season? Best decision you will ever make.
The friendships, the freedom, and a life most people only dream about.
Most people who show up to a ski season alone arrive not knowing a single person on the mountain. By the end of the first week they have got a crew. By the end of the season they have got mateships for life. It just happens. Faster than you would expect. If you are sitting on the fence about going solo, this one's for you.

You Won't Be Alone for Long
Tom Sharpe flew to Niseko from Australia not knowing a single person. One buried van, 70cm of overnight snow, and instructors from Australia, Canada, France, Japan, all in the same house, all there for the same reason. Supermarket runs to Kutchan that turned into full blown adventures. Conbini stops with housemates using Google Translate to decode the food. It started with a solo booking and zero expectations.
"I have mates from all necks of the world, and stories to tell the grandkids one day." - Tom, Snowboard Instructor, Japan
Arianne arrived at Mt Hutt from Paraguay with a bag of gear and an open mind. Mt Hutt swept her straight into the community. Between powder days, real coaching experience, and the warmth of small-town Methven, her season became something she didn't see coming. By the end of it she had an awesome crew she didn't want to leave behind and a mountain she didn't want to leave.
Gryffin had never done a ski season before she landed at Lake Louise. Twelve weeks later she was a qualified Level 2 snowboard instructor with New Zealand and Japan already pencilled in for next winter. She arrived not quite sure what to expect. She left knowing exactly where she was headed.
Three different people. Three different mountains. Three different corners of the world. All started solo. All found their people fast.

What Solo Actually Means on a Ski Season
Solo doesn't mean lonely. It means you get to write the whole story yourself. No compromises on destination, no waiting for someone else to make up their mind. You choose the mountain, the country and show up on your own terms.
Same house, same powder days, same stories building up from day one. The friendships you make on a ski season have a way of sticking around long after the lifts stop running. Ask anyone who's done one.

Nine Seasons. Started Solo. Here's Why.
Ash traded her surfboard in Sydney for a snowboard and hasn't looked back. Nine seasons later she's chasing winter year round, still riding with the people she met on her first solo season at Cypress. Canada, Japan, New Zealand, Australia. The world became her mountain the moment she decided to go for it.
"It was super easy to build connections and find my crew in a new town. Along the way I've met some of my best friends and soulmates. I'm just out here having a rad time doing what I love." - Ash, Snowboard Instructor, Cypress Mountain
