If you haven’t yet heard of Rusutsu you are about to!
One of Japan's fastest growing resort locations, only 35 minutes from the heart of Niseko. Close enough to offer modern conveniences, but far enough away from the hustle of Hirafu. Rusutsu offers amazing snow, well-maintained terrain parks and amazing learner’s facilities. The resort works closely with EA Ski & Snowboard Training to offer the opportunity to train as a qualified instructor and transition into a paid job!
“Japan is without a doubt my favourite winter location. I have worked here as an instructor since completing my training with EA in 2009 and I have seen a huge increase in Australian travelers because the conditions are just so much better than home, the value for money is higher, and the pay is better…”
Stacey Thomson, EA Intern. Sydney Australia.
Rusutsu is one of the most sought after snow destinations on the planet!
EA has been operating Japanese instructor training with guaranteed jobs for interns for almost 10 years, the experienced team have put together some top tips for surviving a winter in Japan!
- Snow Conditions: Pack your snorkel! Japan snow is out of control, quite often a slower start than Canada but once the snow arrives, it is one of the longest seasons in the Northern Hemisphere! Last year EA interns were in employment until the end of April…. That’s a massive 6 months of winter living.
- Culture: Japan is a culture shock, be prepared for amazingly friendly and helpful people!! They want to help you and as a culture, they are renowned for being generous and extremely trustworthy. Japan has one of the lowest crime rates on the planet!
- Language: Don’t waste your time learning the intricacies of the Japanese language! Especially if an instructor is your dream resort job! Japan is more and more popular with skiers from around the world, especially Australia, so speaking English will definitely benefit you in your job as a ski or snowboard instructor in Japan.
- Living and Working: Japan is one of the most incredible locations to work for a winter season. You will live and work with a small team so a positive attitude will be your best asset! The accommodation is comfortable and well positioned (close to the resort), the pay rates are among the best in the industry for level 1 instructors, the people are lovely, and the opportunities for ongoing employment are increased.
