Each year, people around the world prepare themselves for one of the most popular lotteries in the world, the Canadian working holiday visa pool.
The Canadian working holiday visa pool opens sometime between late November and early December, but the actual open date is released to the public only a day or so beforehand.
What makes Canadian working visas such a hot commodity is the fact that there is a limited number available each year for each nationality.
If you're interested in becoming a ski instructor in Canada in 2022, it's critical you have your working holiday visa application ready to go when the pool does open. You've gotta be in to win.
What is the Canadian IEC Working Holiday Visa?
The IEC is the Canadian equivalent of a work visa, providing a temporary work permit to young people from 30+ countries. This is the legal right to work and live in Canada for a period of time. The period of time allocated varies between each individuals country of citizenship but it is generally for 12 to 24 months.
Remember, there is a limited number of visas available for people from each country - and they get snapped up quickly.

What happens if I miss out?
If you do end up missing out on a working holiday visa, you can still become a ski or snowboard instructor with us on a training program based at Lake Louise in Banff. But as you won't be able to legally work, EA won't be able to secure an instructor job for you in Canada that season. However, we have more than 30 resorts we work with around the world, so the chances are we may be able to help you find employment somewhere else.
