Evergreen in Hakuba offers ski-in, ski-out staff accommodation and huge annual snowfall.
Hakuba is famous in Japan and the world for great skiing and boasts some of the best resorts and snow in the country. For more than 70 years Hakuba has been providing skiers, snowboarders and outdoor enthusiasts the ideal conditions for enjoying an epic winter experience.
With more than 200 trails, fantastic powder and some of the longest vertical skiing in Japan, Hakuba has earned its reputation as an absolute must for the bucket list for skiers and boarders of all levels. The season here can start as early as November, but the best conditions can generally be found from December to late February, with March perfect for spring skiing and some of the resorts staying open until the first week of May.

Evergreen Ski School based on the slopes of Happo-One in Hakuba is one of Japan’s biggest and best ski resorts. Evergreen has professional ski school for ski and snowboard lessons and also offer avalanche training, deep powder backcountry tours, and general gnarly-ness. If you're looking to charge the backcountry, this is the spot.
As an instructor at Evergreen Snowsports School, you will be expected to work hard when it is busy and play hard when it is not.
Located four hours from Tokyo by train, Hakuba offers over 200 trails and receives an average snowfall of 14 metres each season. There are 11 resorts in this area for you to explore in the area, including Cortina. If you are a hard-core powder hound who’s priority is the fresh stuff, this is the location and ski school for you.
Interns will typically stay in the Kokusai Lodge staff accommodation close to Evergreen Ski School. Kokusai Lodge offers affordable, quality accommodation within walking distance to central Hakuba. Common areas are shared, lounge, dry room, laundry and lobby. Internet Wi-Fi is provided.
There is a compulsory meal plan for Evergreen Internship participants. This includes breakfast and dinner for the duration of the level one training and exam period - approx. US$20 per day.
EA Ski & Snowboard Training want you to have the best winter ski season possible in Hakuba, Japan. We have a program manager on the ground, who is easily contacted and there to offer advice and support at all times. Not only are they familiar with Hakuba itself, but they will also be a familiar face to make your gap year and first winter season that much easier.
Our Ski Instructor Internships at Evergreen Hakuba, Japan, allow you to obtain a globally recognised snowboard or ski instructor certification with the CSIA.
The CSIA is an internationally recognised snowsports association and is the governing body for ski instructor qualifications in Canada. CSIA qualifications are highly regarded in the industry and qualifications with the Canadian system will build your technical understanding and allow you to effectively instruct skiing.
