Making the choice between the ski and snowboard instructor course with EA Ski and Snowboard Training
My name is Marine, I grew up and lived most of my life in Ghana. With my French side of the family living in the French Alps, I got to learn skiing at 3 years old and kept it up whenever I would go visit. As I got older I realized how much cooler snowboarding was and decided to stick with that instead. But I still love both 😆
I’ve always had a huge passion for adventure and board sports
Having some experience instructing made me realize that teaching something you love is super rewarding. I’ve really always looked up to my snowboard instructors growing up which is all what has driven me to become one myself!
We had quite a sick group with EA Ski and Snowboard Training, everyone got along and it was cool living so close to each other. We really got to bond and share some amazing experiences at Revy. Anyone who lives in Revy shares a similar passion for the mountains which allows for it to be easy to connect with one another.
Why I chose Canada for my snowboard instructor training with EA Ski and Snowboard Training?
The ski level of EA Ski and Snowboard Training participants was quite good to begin with, but after a season out there you could really see a huge improvement from everyone. That terrain is bound to make you really skilled!!
I decided to go for Canada because I’ve heard great things about the snow out here and the opportunities there are for working in the outdoors.
Day in the life of a snowboard instructor in Revelstoke
Wake up, either make myself breakfast and coffee before catching the bus, or get it at the Café on the hill once I’ve gotten ready in the locker room. Head over to snow school and start my lesson at 9:30! Rip about the mountain and have fun with my students before a lunch break. If it’s too cold or the kids want their 1000th hot chocolate break, we go for that in between. After lunch we continue with lessons and end the day with a victory lap if we have the time and energy. Hang around the resort with friends or go home and take a sweet nap. Have dinner and go out for a drink, karaoke night or game night at the regent!
The best thing about my season was landing a backflip on my last day!!! Great way to end an amazing season at Revy and call me back for more this winter!
I definitely plan on continuing as an instructor and getting paid for doing what I love :)
