Victoria is another of our EA interns completing her training and qualifications to become a ski instructor at Northstar in Tahoe, USA! Check out her blog post below:
The ski season is about to start and I'm excitedly packing to go to Northstar in Tahoe with EA's Ski Instructor Internship! Instead of just packing up the bare essentials, I decided that I'd like to keep my options open if I want to live in the area year-round. So I'm packing up everything I own and sticking it all in my little car... It's quite the exhausting process for someone who owns way too much. So – goodbye, excess stuff that doesn't fit. Hello, powder! I just need to make sure not to lose track of anything small and immediately necessary (like ski gloves!) in the piles of clothes and books in my trunk.
I started skiing when I was three or four years old. I actually remember going out on the bunny slopes with my dad and older brother. Well, I don't remember the skiing part, but I remember afterward excitedly running inside the lodge where my mom sat waiting with hot chocolate, eager to tell her everything. Skiing still is like that for me – I get so excited to be out there on the snow in the clear air and I want to share that with everyone. So I'm super excited about this season. I'll be out on the slopes nearly everyday with some great people (who I can't wait to meet!), sharing something I love, learning more about it, working toward perfecting my skills, and then teaching little kids who I hope will be just as excited as I was about it. Seriously, what more could a snow lover want? EA offers a great opportunity and I'm thrilled to be joining them this season.
There are so many great things to look forward to this season. Quite a few people have asked me what I'm most excited about. Honestly, there are too many! New people, places, new adventures... I think, though, that I'm most excited about taking my skills to the next level and introducing a sport I love to a whole new generation. It's going to be a great season!
Applications are now open for next season's placements, so if this sounds like you, get in touch with the team at EA to find out more or click here.
